Will the Kimberley Tours be impacted by the recent flooding
With record flooding in the Kimberley early in 2023 there was significant infrastructure damage to roads. The damaged section of approximately 10km near Willare Bridge has reopened to traffic and ongoing repairs are continuing. We anticipate some delays in this area while speed limits are restricted to 60kph. The damage to the Bridge at Fitzroy Crossing has temporarily cut access across the Fitzroy River. Main Roads have indicated a temporary crossing will be in place in the next fortnight (End of March 23) if no further significant rain events take place. The Gibb River Road and most Kimberley attractions are on track to open in May apart from Windjana & Geikie Gorge which suffered infrastructure damage. We are monitoring the situation daily and remain confident visitors will be able to experience a Kimberley countryside presently looking spectacular!
